Tuesday;
This Tuesday is Ladies Guest Day. Please keep your golf until after the Ladies, especially if you have guests. Please honor their space with your play.
Bocce Ball;
Our first week of Bocce Ball is in the books. There will be 5 more weeks of this heading into the overseed. Even if you aren’t on a team, come on out and share in the festivities or just hang out and enjoy Brian’s BBQ. I am thinking of starting a professional heckling team.
August Guest Day;
We had a terrific turnout this weekend with 110 players coming out and joining us for the August Member Guest. The course was as good as the weather with upper 70’s in August. It felt like a fall day in the south! The day was perfect and the golf was better. We had 9 Sub-par Gross Rounds and only 8 teams shot above par Net. Photos from the event can be seen on the VCC Website. The final results have been posted on my blog. It’s address is at the bottom of this page. Congrats to our Flight Winners.
End of Summer Junior Camp;
Jill is providing an End of Summer Junior Camp for the next 3 Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00. The age range is from 4-12. Please come on out if you are interested on your child catching the bug. Last week we had almost 10 children show up. It is $30 a session. Please call the Shop with any questions.
Couple’s Twilight and Bash;
This Friday we have our final installment of the Summer Series of Couple’s Twilight. Our format for this Friday is 70’s Groovy. Some of you didn’t know this theme ever went out of style so you will fit right in. For those of you that aren’t stuck in the tie dye past break out your favorite shagarific gear and join us Friday evening. Golf will start at 4:30. If you don’t want to play golf we have something in store for you. Starting at about 6:30 will be our very own Pete Clancey and his band of merry men...and yes if you come join us for the band and BBQ you can wear your 70’s gear.
Around the Club;
We will be doing some work around the Club this week. We will be having back 9 starts a couple of times this week. We have some tree maintenance that needs to be done on Tuesday so we will be starting on 10. On Thursday we have sod work on holes 2, 9 and 15. We are also going to start on 10 in order to minimize your inconvenience. We think we can get 2 and 9 done before you get there so the only interference will be later in the day when Joe’s crew gets to work on 15.
Over-seeding Trip;
Folks, this is your official save the date notice. We are looking to organize a trip during over-seeding. Our tentative dates are Tuesday, October 4th through Sunday October the 9th. Our goal would be travel on Tuesday and Sunday and golf Wednesday through Saturday. We are looking to go to San Antonio and stay on the River Walk. We haven’t pulled the trigger yet just because we are watching their drought situation. Please know that if San Antonio doesn’t work out our goal will be to set something else up in that time frame. Please put a soft block on that week if you want to travel with VCC.
