The Weekend Release
Craig’s Weekend Release Program
For the week of July 5th thru July 10th
Ladies Day;
This week the Ladies have the tee from 8:00 to 10:00ish. Please keep your guest play until after the ladies get off the 1st tee. Next week the Ladies have their Guest Day. They have 72 players. We will have to close the tee all morning. Our goal is to open the tee for other golfers at 11:30. I am sorry for any inconvenience. Please keep your golf arrangements until after 11:30 on Tuesday.
Wednesday Night Match Play;
This week begins our 3 week playoff. We have broken the 12 teams into 3 flights of 4 and will play them as a round robin. This weeks format is a Partner’s Scramble. Next weeks format will be Partner’s Better Ball and the final week will be Singles Matches. The 3rd week there will be twice the number of points available. The Brackets consist of;
Championship Bracket: 1st Place $200, 2nd Place $100, 3rd Place $80 4th Place $60 per Player

Valencia Junior Programs;
This week starts our Junior Program. Jill will be organizing the program this week for the 4-7 year olds. Below is a brief descriptions of the events. Please call the shop to sign up. The programs will go from 10:00 to 12:00 with lunch after the camp.

Ladies Day;
This week the Ladies have the tee at 8:00 for their Red, White, and Blue tournament. Men again if we have to displace any of you so the Ladies can have the tee we will honor our Members first and then Guests. I would hate to disappoint any of you by not allowing your guest to play before the Ladies because of compaction. Please try to keep your guest play until after the Ladies tee off.
Wednesday Night Match Play;
This week’s installment of Wednesday Night Match Play will be Alternate Shot. This is our final week before playoffs start. The Playoffs will pit the top 4 teams in a round robin for guaranteed money. Team Gonzales currently holds the 4th spot with Team Spencer and Team Spiker only 4 points behind. The bottom 8 teams will be placed into brackets and will play for 1st and 2nd payouts. Get your teams in early and get your game on!
4th of July Weekend;
Come to the Club this weekend. We are open Monday the 4th and will be taking tee times starting tomorrow, Tuesday the 28th for the 4th. We will be having our annual Flag Day Tournament on Monday. If you desire to play in the event, come in the shop and grab a flag. If you complete 18 holes within your number of strokes based on your handicap bring it into the Shop and we will split the buy in.
Valencia Junior Programs;
This summer Jill is putting together a summer camp for the more novice Juniors. Please check out the Members Section of the Website under Junior Golf for more information. We are separating it by age group and lunch will be included in both camps. Please call the shop to sign up. The programs will go from 10:00 to 12:00 with lunch after the camp.

Around the Club;
A few results are in from the past couple of weeks. First of all we had a tremendous turnout for the Couple’s Twilight with 15 teams. Thank you all for joining us. Check out the Website for results and pictures! Our President’s Cup is starting to come into clarity. Three of our Flight Winners have been determined. The President Flight Champion is Harry Thomas who will be taking on Doug Schiermeyer our Vice President’s Flight Champion. The Treasurer’s Flight Championship has come down to Russ Hoffman and James Song who will take on The Secretary Flight Champion Pablo Suarez. Thanks to all of you for getting these matches played before the holidays(Thanksgiving).
The Course;
We have started to see some warmer weather around the Santa Clarita Valley. With the heat we will start to transition from our cool season grasses into our warm season grasses. Joe has written in depth about that process. We also will be doing some work on the 16 pond this week. We are lowering the water level in order to get some of the weeds out, so don’t be surprised when you see it low this week. =
